MAJOR CHALLENGES OF BENISHANGUL GUMUZ MALE FOOTBALL CLUBS TO JOIN INTO ETHIOPIAN NATIONAL LEAGUE

Abstract:

The function of this study was to investigate the Challenges of Benishangul Gumuz Male Football Clubs to join into Ethiopian National League in Asossa and kamashi Zone. This research design was descriptive survey types of research. The participants in this research were consisted of eighteen club players, four coaches, and four general managers of the clubs. The participants were selected by random and purposive sampling methods. The major data collection instruments were questionnaires, interviews, and observation checklist .Fourth four questionnaires distributed for eighteen clubs players and four clubs coaches to consolidate the information obtained from the questionnaires and four semi-structured interviews was conducted with general managers of the clubs. In analyzed the data the quantitative and qualitative methods are used. All the close-ended questions of the questionnaires were analyzed quantitatively used frequency count and percentage and the data obtained from semi-structured questions of interviews and observation analyzed qualitatively in descriptive statements. The major finding of the study connected to the Major Challenges of Benishangul Gumuz Male Football Clubs to join into the Ethiopian National League indicated that, lack of standard club management and functionally, Lack of management system, Lack of well design short and long term plans, Lack of appropriate rule and regulation, Lack of stakeholder participation, Lack of sufficient competitions in preseason, Lack of budge ,Lack of sufficient sports facilities and training types of equipment, Lack of standardized and comfortable playing fields, Lack of sport wears and materials.
